Hola!
We are been working hard to find new venues and check trends for all those wonderful couples; who will be celebrating destination weddings, elopements, intimate weddings, or marriage proposals.
At this time we had a couple of approaches to the Wellness lifestyle.
I don´t have to mention how Covid changed our lives; nor how it reminds us of the important things. This new normality increased in us the good habits; like washing our hands, or how our face mask is now your best friend to go out.
Wellness Lifestyle
However, what does Wellness lifestyle means; for some, it is a dynamic process of change and growth and includes 7 dimensions like Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Environmental and Occupational
Personally, in the past years, I had been getting closer to Wellness, not only adding some exercise to my daily routine. Also, I added plant-based food, reducing meats and lactose in my diet, and adding plant-based proteins. Like many; I adore carbs but I try them whole and the fresher possible, and well, it is hard to say goodbye to chocolate and sugar when you have 4-year-old kiddo. So I do my best.
Reading is being part of my life even before a teenager, so I went back to that amazing hobby, with a small twist, now those are books looking to help women to find themselves, or books with a healer background.
To be honest, the religious part is not our forte, but Vanessa and I are more spiritual. Therefore as much as possible, we practice some Tibetan singing bowl meditation, Tai chi, or Chi kung.
Wellness lifestyle into Destination Weddings
Exactly, what all that is related to destination weddings, elopements, micro weddings, proposals, and the totality of the romance industry?
The ” je ne se quoi” of Tulum is their vision into a wellness lifestyle; going back to the roots to enjoy the simplicity of life itself, by enjoying life. Covid reminded us that.
Speaking about trends, well, I can say that we will see a lot of this kind of Wellness and Destination Wedding mixing together. Tons of wooden, natural florals, neutral colors, and inspiration that work with the ambiance; rather pop up from the ambiance; a respectful plant base menu, and purchase to locals.
Mayan and Spiritual ceremonies will also increase, not only because you jumped all the legal stuff because they are connected to the elements and they are connected to the earth.
Wellness Activities for all
Quintana Roo area offers sun and beach activities for all, bars and dancing areas are open following sanitary restrictions. However, there are other activities that you can add into your elopement, destination wedding, or micro wedding… even for a marriage proposal.
Yoga Lessons: Perhaps being quiet is not your forte, like me, however, Yoga offers different styles to stretch yourself and surprisingly start your morning recharged.
Singing Quartz Bowl meditation: Based on sound therapy, vibration and sound makes a significant beneficial effect on the healing of your mind and body, especially when combined with positive affirmations in the form of mantras and chants.
Tai Chi: If stretching and meditation are not for you, you can always try Tai chi, which combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements.
Gong Baths: Love them! Gong baths are a type of inactive meditation, where you “bathe” in the healing vibrations of sound. They are great to restart the mind. Is a unique experience.

Temazcal Casa de los Aluxes
Temazcal: During a ceremony, participants will enter a sweat lodge (typically an igloo-shaped hut) constructed from volcanic stone, wood, or cement. Once inside, hot volcanic rocks are placed in the center, and water is poured over the rocks to produce steam. Herbs, typically sage or copal, are added to aid the cleansing process. While every ritual is different, ceremonies can last around two hours which might include a shaman-led series of thanksgiving or chanting. It is an ancient ritual to help you to heal, find responses and connect with your inner.
Wedding Couple Tarot reading: Seeking some advice in regards to your marriage, this is an interesting tool to do that.
Concerned about the smallest? some of them behave great with these activities, as far they last less time than the regular ones.
Hidden Stay for Wellness Destination Weddings
There are tons of options to stay in Riviera Maya, Cancun, and Tulum. Seeking a wellness stay is not an easy task however Tulum has great options, and you always can book in private the activities I mentioned.
Palmaïa, the house of Aïa
However, if you are looking to go deep into the wellness lifestyle and provide your guests with a different experience, then Palmaia resort will be your best choice. Hidden in Playa del Carmen, focused on connecting us to nature, ourselves, and the sanctity of life.
This sanctuary offers wellness activities, plant-based meals, temazcal, yoga, and activities related to being good. If you are looking for a different and relaxing experience for your guests, Palmaïa is a great option for a wellness wedding.
